The Department of Health has announced temporary Medicare Benefits Schedule (MBS) and DVA items that will allow Doctors, Nurses and Mental Health Professionals to deliver services over the phone or via a videolink (also known as Telehealth), Telehealth services will be available to:
- People aged over 70
- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people aged over 50
- People with chronic health conditions or who are immunocompromised
- Parents with new babies and people who are pregnant.
If you are in the above group you can see a health provider via telehealth for a non-COVID-19 matter if you have seen that practitioner face-to-face at least once in the last 12 months. People isolating themselves at home on the advice of a medical practitioner, in accordance with home isolation guidance issued by the AHPPC, and people who meet the current national triage protocol criteria for suspected COVID-19 infection after consultation with either the national COVID-19 hotline, state COVID-19 hotlines, registered medical or nursing practitioner or COVID-19 trained health clinic triage staff can see any eligible health provider through the telehealth items also.
For patients in the above groups, this service will be bulk billed
Note on prices:
Craigieburn Central Medical Centre is a bulk billing clinic for patients with a valid Medicare Card.
For patients without a valid Medicare Card:
A standard appointment (with one issue) will cost $50 – $75 Monday to Friday before 8pm and on Saturdays before 1pm.
Outside of these hours, the fee is $75 – $120.
A prolonged consultation (more than two issues) will can cost up to $150 depending on the kind of consultation you require.
We accept some private and overseas clients (exceptions apply). Please check with your preferred practitioner for private health insurance payments.
*No show: If you fail to make your appointment without 24 hours prior notice, you will incur a $20 fee in your account. If you cannot make your appointment, please call in advance to reschedule or cancel*
Non standard appointments
There are some appointments that are non standard and you must call our receptionist staff ahead of time to book these in. These include:
- Travel medicine
- Immunisaions and vaccinations
- Pre employment and other medical assessments
- Mental health
- Preventative health care
- Skin checks
- Long or prolonged consultation (when you have more than 1 issue to discuss)
These appointments may come at an extra cost and this cost will depend on the kind of consultation and treatments you require. Please ask our receptionist staff for more details.
